3 DAY BRONZE CASTING WORKSHOP WITH DAVID SNOO WILSON

7June to 9 June 2024

10am until 5pm daily

Cost: £355 inc 1 kilo of bronze

This course involves three consecutive days introducing you to lost wax bronze casting, using the ceramic shell casting technique. The workshop is taught to a small group (maximum of 8 participants) to allow as much contact time as possible. You'll learn an overview of the foundry process while creating your own small bronze sculpture to take home with you.

The course is geared so that all people and levels of skills can participate, learn, and come away with knowledge as well as a bronze sculpture at the end. You may have never picked up any sculpting tools or be an advanced metal worker, you will learn and create on this course.

 Our Back Garden, a local family run rare breed farm, will be bringing along two of their alpacas for this unique drawing workshop.  Learn more about the alpacas and their herd whilst having the opportunity to draw them in action.  With materials provided, Laura will help you find ways to capture on paper these beautiful creatures.

THREE DIMENSIONAL TAPESTRY WEAVING WORKSHOP WITH CARON PENNEY OF WEFTFACED

Saturday 7th October 10am until 4.00pm

Cost: £65 All materials are included in the price.  All required Equipment will be available to borrow on the day.

In this workshop we will explore how to make shaped three dimensional tapestry commencing with flat pieces woven on the loom.

 From this starting point we will explore the numerous ways in which conventional tapestry work can take on form through a variety of sculptural procedures including moulding, pulling and shaping.

1 DAY WORKSHOP DRAWING FROM THE LANDSCAPE WITH BEN RISK

Saturday 9th September 2023

10am until 5.00pm

This day-long drawing class will encourage participants to think beyond the page, giving participants the tools and techniques to develop a deeper understanding of looking and drawing from the landscape. The participants are encouraged to abandon traditional notions of what they think the landscape signifies, instead adopting a more playful intuitive approach to developing an image.
